The pact between the opposition United Party for National Development and The Post Newspapers has been cemented by the party leader’s having stepped in to help bail out the institution by paying salaries for employees.
As part of the coverage-for-money deal, UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema was forced to step in to pay outstanding salary arrears for The Post Newspapers employees whose backlog went as far back as last October.
The deal was meant to clear out part of the embarrassment that comes with Post Newspaper editor Fred M’membe’s poor pay culture for employees.
Formerly sworn enemies, M’membe and Hichilema have found a common enemy in President Edgar Lungu who they want oust from power by any means necessary in August, 2016.
