United Party for National Development leader Hakainde Hichilema has warned that he will personally picket the office of the Chief Justice if Lombe Chibesakunda does not resign her position within 15 days.
Hichilema told a media briefing in Lusaka that Justice Chibesakunda does not qualify to hold the position of Acting Chief Justice.
He said the UPND will hold demonstrations at the Supreme Court to force Justice Chibesakunda to resign.
Hichilema accused Justice Chibesakunda of allegedly failing to run the affairs of the judiciary.
He said the Acting Chief Justice has been harassing judiciary workers who are perceived to be sympathisers of the opposition.
Hichilema said a number of workers in the judiciary viewed to be anti PF have been transferred to other stations.
He said Justice Chibesakunda should step down because even the parliamentary select committee refused to approve her name because she does not qualify.
