Another Zambian has landed in hot soup after having insulted President Edgar Lungu.
Twenty-four year old Steven Phiri, who is an employee of Zambeef Woodlands outlet has been charged with defamation of the President.
Phiri has been charged with Defamation of the President contrary to the Laws of Zambia.
It is alleged that on October 24, 2018 with intent to bring the name of the President into ridicule and disrepute Phiri allegedly published insulting matter by word of mouth in Nyanja which words were deemed insulting to the Head of State.
The suspect is scheduled to take plea on Monday 17th December, 2018 before Magistrate Nthandose Chabala.
On November 4, 2018, ADEDO President Justin Chikonde, was arrested for insulting the Head of State in a video that went viral.
