Sydney, Kapembwa who is one of the accused persons in the 24 kilograms cocaine scandal at the Lusaka Magistrates Court said the cocaine that was found on his person was not the one missing from the court but from another Tanzanian businessman.

Kapembwa confirmed that the drugs were found at his house when the Drug Enforcement officers ransacked his house where they also found a gun with 13 rounds of ammunition.

The accused said the DEC officers searched his house without a warrant.

In this case, Kapembwa, 33, is jointly charged with Shiabu Likuta, 42, a Tanzanian national and Teddy Matanda, 35, a taxi driver, with six counts of trafficking in cocaine and possession of property suspected to be proceeds of crime.

Kapembwa informed the court that when the officers arrested him, he offered to help them with investigations by contacting a Dar-Salaam contact to whom the cocaine was meant to be sent.

The matter has since been adjourned to December 30 2018 .

All the accused persons remain remanded in custody.
