Kitwe Mayor Christopher Kang’ombe continues to break new ground in beautifying the city of Kitwe and has facilitated that acquisition of equipment which includes a concrete mixer and paver machine all valued at approximately K 241,000.

Kang’ombe has committed to paving over 400 Km of walkways through locally generated resources is closer to being realised.

Last month, Kang’ombe announced that the Kitwe City Council had received close to K 255,887 donation from individuals and firms towards the procurement of a pavers making machine for the 400 kilometres Pave Kitwe Walkways Project.

“We had received overwhelming response from different individuals and companies but we thought getting contributions now then was not sustainable, from that point we realised it was important to get the equipment,” Kang’ombe said.

“Equipment which includes a concrete mixer to enable Kitwe City Council manufacture its own pavers and blocks has been delivered at the Bamboo workshop. Thank you dear residents & companies for the donations towards sustaining the project,” he added.
