Allegations of fraud have emerged in the Democratic Republic of Congo with the opposition accusing the ruling party of registering child voters.

Images of voter’s cards bearing child voters have been circulated as Africa’s largest copper producer prepares for a potentially fractious election set for December 23, 2018.

The race in the DRC pits Martin Fayula – the opposition common candidate – against ruling party nominee Emmanuel Ramazani Shadary and another opposition leader Felix Tshisekedi.

Many in the DRC have raised concern on the credibility of the poll with majority of the opposition rejecting the voting machines as they believe the devices will be a conduit to rig the polls.
