Tributes to former President Michael Sata have been flowing throughout the day on the fourth anniversary of his death.
His successor President Edgar Lungu led top government officials and late Sata’s family at the memorial service mass at St Ignatius Parish and later Embassy Park.
Below is President Lungu’s tribute:
President Michael Chilufya Sata, today we honour your courage, boldness and wisdom as we mark your fourth Memorial Service.
Collectively, we wish to thank you for teaching us the ancient but timeless universal human principles of upholding human dignity. You taught us that, our greatness lies in looking out for the weak, the poor and vulnerable.
Your leadership demonstrated that, with God’s grace and discipline, we can build a better #Zambia with opportunities for everyone.
Go well “Chipola mulamba wesu”. Your prayer for a united, just and prosperous #Zambia shall be realized, because you have left us on a firm foundation.
Go well our great leader. We shall continue to honour your name as you intercede for us.
Join me in celebrating #President #Sata’s life, a life well lived and an excellent example for us, our children and generations to come.
