The shadow boxing between Roan Member of Parliament Chishimba Kambwili and the Patriotic Front has taken a dramatic twist with the latter writing to the Speaker of the National Assembly Patrick Matibini to declare the seat vacant.
Patriotic Front General Secretary Davies Mwila has written to the Speaker asking that a by-election be held after Kambwili’s challenge was thrown out in the High Court.
Mwila has also attached the High Court verdict to back up his case.
However, Kambwili has appealed the High Court decision at the Appeals Court dragging the matter into another phase.
Kambwili was expelled from the Patriotic Front on July 24, 2017 but has challenged his expulsion.
