Police in Kitwe have arrested eight people for drug trafficking.
Copperbelt Commissioner of Police Charity Katanga said the eight were rounded up following a joint operation with the Drug Enforcement Commission in Kitwe.
Katanga named the suspects as John Chelah, 31, of Ipusukilo, Reagan Muwowo, 21, of Ipusukolo Benjamin Mofya, 20, of Kwacha and Daniel Mwango, 21, of Ipusukolo.
The rest are Mwaba Chisanga, 20, Danny Simpongwe 25, John Samunyau 37 and Cephas Bwalya 24.
Katanga said during the operation about 451 bowls of cannabis were recovered from the suspects arrested.
She has warned that police remain alert to dealing with drug traffickers as well as those that may be found engaging in other illegal activities.
Katanga said all the suspects are detained in police custody at Riverside Police Station.
