President Edgar Lungu and First Lady Esther yesterday joined hundreds of Zambians in national prayers for peace held at the Show Grounds.
The prayers were the second of a similar magnitude after having convened a round of prayers on October 18 with the day finally declared a national day.
Conveners of the meeting pinned their theme under the umbrella revolving around elections with violence being at the core.
Political parties also joined the prayers that seek to appeal to the conscience of politicians to cure the cancer of violence.
The country will be holding national elections on August 11.
