The state has entered a nolle prosequi in the case against Post Newspapers editor Fred M’membe and reporter Mukosha Funga over allegation of publication of classified information.
M’membe through his paper had on 17th April 2015 published a letter by then Anti Corruption Commission Director General Roselyn Wandi over investigations against political advisor to the Head of State Kaiser Zulu.
The paper and its editor were dragged to court over a charge of publication of classified information but were discharged albeit through a nolle prosequi.
Magistrate Eddie Sikazwe discharged the duo but warned that the matter could be re-activated as it was not an acquittal.
The prosecution team said that the nolle was partly entered to quell rumours that the duo was dragged to court on account of being persecuted.
