Miles Sampa is not giving up on having the word “Front” in his yet being realised dream of founding a political party.
Sampa has had his second attempt at registering a political party thrown out by Chief Registrar Thandiwe Mhende who said his proposed name the United Democratic Front is already on the books of the institution rendering the former Matero lawmaker’s bid futile.
The initial attempt to register the a party under the name Democratic Front was halted by the Supreme Court following controversy over ownership as there was a claim from David Chanda as founder of the party.
Sampa has spiritedly pushed through a new name for the party which he calls the People’s Democratic Front.
The former Commerce Deputy Minister is currently working in league with the opposition United Party for National Development.
He is hoping that the use of the word “Front” does stir some confusion in line with the ruling party name the Patriotic Front.
