Kamanga-Post FCFootball Association of Zambia presidential aspirant Andrew Kamanga has continued combing through the country as he puts his case for election before prospective councillors.

Widely seen as posing a strong challenge to Kalusha Bwalya’s 8 year rule, Kamanga has presented a polished business manager image that he hopes will give football a business touch when elected FAZ president.

FAZ will hold elections on March 19 at Moba Hotel.

Below is his note on his facebook page:

Good morning friends,

It’s been a while since our last interaction. There are a few days to go to the time FAZ will hold the elective annual general meeting at Moba Hotel in Kitwe. We value the councillors and respect their contribution to Zambian football, so we have spent the last few days on the road.

We were in Eastern Province where we met club administrators and explained our vision. It was an overwhelming turn out. After our Chipata meeting, we were in Kitwe and just yesterday we were in Mansa interacting with our colleagues in Luapula.

In our interactions, we have outlined the blueprint that will anchor our management of Zambian football. There is no doubt the councillors are appreciating our vision. And thank you so much for attending our meetings in huge numbers.

Zambian football can indeed do better. We are looking at proper restructuring of the league, proper management of referees, coaches and youth development by empowering all teams, with a lot of emphasis on rural areas.

There are some of our colleagues who are going round the country dishing out jerseys, soccer balls and in some cases money. To our councillors, we urge them to get all the gifts being given to them. That is your money albeit in wrong hands. Individuals have spent the last four years benefitting from football and giving affiliates small ‘donations’ so that they can continue surviving on football. This is the culture we pledge to transform into something meaningfully benefitting the greater good.

If we properly managed Zambian football, all clubs will continue to benefit throughout the year. Our pledge is that revenue from SuperSports, FIFA, CAF, MTN, match appearances and gate takings, among others will benefit councillors all not through donations during an election calendar.

Vote wisely.
