Kazala Goes For Simwanza’s Neck: “He’s Corrupt”

Kazala-KaluFAZ vice-presidential aspirant Richard Kazala has accused his rival Pivoty Simwanza of allegedly robbing Football House of revenue by not paying royalties from the sale of Chipolopolo replica jerseys.

Trading in Chipolopolo replicas in itself by an executive committee member like Simwanza is illegal. Simwanza is also the one who supplies Chipolopolo replicas in collaborations with FAZ president Kalusha Bwalya.

Kazala has told journalists without mention Simwanza’s name that he will put a stop to any form of abuse by individuals that had been using Football House for personal gain at the expense of football development.

“Somebody has never paid royalties for using the FAZ logo on his replicas. I have never seen any royalties since I became a committee member. When am voted (this) month that will come to an end.

“When I become vice-president, I become head of administration, and my job will be to make sure that we incorporate development of lower teams into a four year development plan drawn by FAZ. That means we start buying footballs, jerseys, and other equipment for division three, two and the like, that include the distribution of the 1, 300 balls that FIFA allocates to FAZ for development programmes,” he declared.

Kazala will compete with Simwanza, incumbent Borniface Mwamelo, talkative but little action Mofya Chisala and prominent Ndola lawyer Cephas Katongo.

Simwanza’s sports shops in Lusaka, Kitwe and Ndola are littered with Chipolopolo merchandise. There are concerns over lack of accountability of proceeds on replica sales, and various financials issues.

Kazala has accused Simwanza of dishing out jerseys and balls to lower division teams, but had no vision and were simply paying back to the clubs what they had stolen from football.
