The ruling Patriotic Front is not giving up on the North Western province support base with the provincial leadership pocking at the prospective electorates.
President Edgar Lungu has since assuming office in January put the province high on his ladder stepping in the province that holds a strong opposition base to appeal for their support.
Provincial chairperson Emmanuel Chihili said that the PF was working hard to tilt the balance in the province by appealing to the masses.
“We are working hard as the ruling party and know that we can win over the party by working very hard in tackling the problems that the people face here,” he said.
“The situation is entirely hopeless because there have been some gains which we have to build on.”
North Western province has largely stayed a UPND stronghold with the MMD also having a stake in the area although it has been waning.
