Chipolopolo ParisStriker Collins Mbesuma returned to national colours on high inspiring Zambia’s Chipolopolo to a 2-1 win over Kenya in a Group E 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi.

The forgotten Collins Mbesuma helped Zambia equalise when he supplied a deft pass to his strike partner Winston Kalengo in the 29 minutes. Mbesuma returned with a crucial goal benefitting from a Kalenga pass to seal the win for Zambia three minutes from half time.

Coach George Lwandamina, whose side face Gabon in an international friendly on Tuesday, will be happy with the result although his lads sat back in the second half allowing Kenya to dominate.

Kenya scored in the 14 minutes when Michael Olunga capitalised on the inexperienced back four as Aaron Katebe failed to clear fails to clear leaving a drawn out Kennedy Mweene with no chance to cover the post.

Zambia is second in Group E although tied on 4 points with Congo Brazzaville who beat Guinea Bissau 4-2 yesterday, and have a superior goal advantage.
