Veteran politician Elias Chipimo Snr has died.
Chipimo Snr died in South Africa today after suffering from cancer.
Last week, his son – Elias Jr – announced the suspension of his presidential campaigns to tend to his ailing father.
Chipimo Snr is a former Minister and Ambassador to Japan and Germany and former MMD Chairperson. He served under first Republican president Kenneth Kaunda’s UNIP and later MMD.
His son is National Restoration Party president.
